Description
514 - LOW 70 / HT-59 R7 Raw AU Details But porous as nearly always seen on all the Bushnell pieces. Struck over what appears to be a 1780's Connecticut Copper though only the branch-hand and sprig are visible. Weight is 119.2 grains. 1841 Millions For Defense Not One Cent For Tribute. Extremely rare with likely no more than six known. A so-called Bushnell Fantasy as they were thought to have been made by or for Charles Bushnell in the 1800's. In more recent years Dave Bowers has suggested Joseph N. T. Levick as a more likely suspect. From the Robert Shallowitz, Dave Menchell, John Ford and F. C. C. Boyd collections earlier for our June 2013 sale were it realized $2,300 and still earlier from Stack's June 2004 sale were it also brought $2,300. (2000-3000)
