212 - MI045A-2a R8 Raw EF+ F. J. & J. Palmer's Woolen Factory, Atlas Genesee County Michigan. Overrated at R8, likely an R6 or R7. This variety has often been called -5a with unlisted die 1039A. With the new Store Card book it has been determined to be previously listed die 1031. A Raw EF example of the former -5a variety brought $220 in our July 2012 sale. From the Bob Adams and Henry South collections earlier from Al Jakira's June 1989 sale. (200-300)
