128 - UI-D-25Bb R9 Raw VG Details A bit porous with some scratches. Wm. H. Jones, Sutler Check Redeemed in Goods to Soldiers Only struck in Brass. Wm. H. Jones ran United States Sutler Store at 45 Cabot Street in Newport, Kentucky from at least 1867 to 1869, though it is still not known what military unit he may have been associated with during the war, if any. Very rare, Dave Schenkman noted he had not seen an example in the 1st Edition of the Sutler Token book and to our knowledge this is the only example. Formerly NL K-25Bb. From the Dave Bowers and Steve Tanenbaum collections. This is the current Plate Specimen for the reverse. (300-400)
