492 - LOW 206 / HT-226 R8 NGC AU55 10% Bright. Bailly Ward & Co. No. 41 Maiden Lane New York Jewelry Perfumery, Engravings, Stationery & French And English Fancy Articles struck in White Metal. Incredibly Ford had three examples (one damaged) of this very rare merchant, this being the finest in our opinion though one was called AU58 by NGC. All others seen have been low grade and / or damaged, missing from the Dice-Hicks offering. Refer to the Rulau plate specimen for a more typical example. A nice FINE+ but with scratched reverse sold for $1,650 in Bowers and Merena's November 1990 sale. The aforementioned NGC AU58 sold for $2,400 in our February 2014 auction. From the John J.
