412 - WI510 Q-1a R7 NGC XF45 BN A nice well struck and problem free example. T. W. Hart Supt. M. W. M. Plank Road Company. Ray Callan's research published in The Civil War Token Journal shows that the Madison, Watertown & Milwaukee Plank Road Company had its office in Milwaukee at the corner of Main and Mason. Although Mr. Hart was from Wauwatosa, the President, Secretary and Treasurer of the company were all Milwaukee businessmen while he was Superintendent. Very single variety merchant, a Raw EF Details with a short scratch and light hairlines realized $800.01 in our December 2017 auction. (1000-1500)
