172 - NY- 13-25B R10 NGC AU55 G. H. Benedict was a sutler for the 13th New York Heavy Artillery. Rare sutler, a VF sold for $1,000 in our March 2010 sale. This is the discovery specimen and was thought to be a Unique variety when the second edition was publish. Since that time an additional example has been recorded. A Raw VF example of the much more available -5B variety sold for $1,000 in our March 2010 sale From the Rick Irons and Steve Tanenbaum collections. This is the Plate Specimen in the Second Edition of the Sutler token book. (3000-4000)
