154 - 444/452A b R9 NGC AU50 BN An arrangement of fruit surrounded by stars while the reverse features 10 CENTS also surrounded by stars stuck in Brass. The only use of die 452A in the Patriotic series and quite rare. The plate for this die in the current Fuld Patriotic book is actually a picture of store card. The picture was borrowed from plates used in Fuld's Store Card book as close study of the two will indicate. When we last offered this example nearly 20 years ago it caused quite a stir and brought $7,001 with spirited bidding in our April 2000 auction. Another example of two have turned up since so it likely will not bring that much but it is still the finest know. From the Mark Glazer, Larkin Wilson and George Fuld collections, the Glazer pedigree is so noted on the NGC holder. (3000-4000)
