100 - 147/227 fp R6 Raw AU+ 30% Bright with some light toning and nearly full silvering. Am I Ready 1861 The Union Must & Shall be Preserved signed L for John D. Lovett. Popular large size 31mm token with a soldier wearing a star studded shirt with neckerchief and Pilgrim style wide brim hat. This plated version has been removed from the current book and replaced by a footnote. Still, this is the normal composition for this die combination, over 60% by our count. It is very hard to find a Brass example that isn't well worn or still has traces of silvering. A Raw AU+ with less than full silvering brought $951 in our July 2012 sale. Listed in the Anti-Confederate section of DeWitt / Sullivan as C 1861-6. (1000-1500)
