105 - UI-D-50Ba R8 NGC MS64 20% Bright and attractively toned. Wm. H. Jones, Sutler Check Redeemed in Goods to Soldiers Only struck in Brass. Wm. H. Jones ran United States Sutler Store at 45 Cabot Street in Newport, Kentucky from at least 1867 to 1869, though it is still not known what military unit he may have been associated with during the war, if any. Outside the Tanenbaum collection Uncirculated examples from this sutler are unheard, even an AU would be highly unusual. Formerly NL K-5Ba. From the Steve Tanenbaum and Dave Schenkman collections.
