731 - Sumner Memorial Token Raw MS64 20% Red mostly on the reverse. Take Care Of My Civil Rights Bill (around bust right) // In Memory Of Chas Sumner Born 1811 Died 1874. Copper 19mm. Sumner was a leader in the Anti Slavery movement and was nearly killed on the Senate floor in 1856 by South Carolina Representative Preston Brooks. Quite a bit scarcer than the White Metal variety usually seen. (150-200)
