107 - Civil War Soldiers ID Tag Raw VF Integral loop for suspension, a few light marks from use but still quite attractive. War of 1861 (North Anna / Turners Farm / Coal Harbor / Petersburgh / Deep Run / Deep Bottom / Boyton Road) Engaged in the Above Battles with Volney Bartow Oshkosh. Wis. CO. G. 36th Reg. Wis. Vol punched into the blank on reverse. Listed as stock tag Battles 4C in Maier and Stahl's book on Identification Discs of Union Soldiers in the Civil War and called Rare. Merriam and Boston are supposed to be on either side of the hanger tab but only a ghost of one or the other is visible on one side. White Metal 31mm. (1000-1500)
