82 - 187/214 g RE R9 Raw AU With 90% original Copper Plating. Time is Money Exigency 1863 The Flag of Our Union struck in Copper Plated Lead. Rare obverse die that is normally seen in the store card series. Almost certainly a contemporary counterfeit made to circulate during the war. This reeded edge example is much rarer than the plain edge variety, just the second we have seen offered. We sold an EF also with nearly full plating for $275 in our October 1999 sale.
