27 - 57A/473 g R9 Raw FINE Details With fairly heavy corrosion and tin pest mostly on the obverse. 1862 Indian Head Redeemed In Par Funds In Sums Of One Dollar struck in Lead. Exceedingly rare obverse die. This is just the third example of this die we have seen offered. We sold a VF porous with some white staining for $1,500 in our December 2006 sale. From the Henry South collection earlier from Chuck Kirtley's September 1985 auction. (750-1000)
