140 - MI225CF-1a1 R9 NGC MS64 RB 40% Red. W. E. Tunis News Dealer, Detroit, Clifton Canada West and Milwaukee. Rare three location token, the only Canadian location on a Civil War token. Very rare variety missing from the Tanenbaum collection and the only example we have seen offered. An AU example of the more available R6 -1a variety sold for $395 in our July 2012 sale. From the Cliff Temple collection earlier from James Kelly on May 7th 1943 for $0.35. (1000-1500)
