121 - 498/499 Iron R8 EF Or so by wear but quite weakly struck particularly on the obverse with usual porous planchet and staining. The First Ironclad 1862 Made From the Armor Plate Of The Merrimac. Now delisted as being made after the Civil War, still very popular relic. A much stronger but still weak at centers EF example brought $3,520 in our July 2006 sale. (1000-1500)
