499 - SEELY & FREEMAN in raised letters in a rectangular depression on the obverse of an 1856 Large Cent FINE coin VG. The Jeweler and Silversmith firm of Seely and Freeman was founded in 1848 in Ogdensburgh New York according to an obituary in the June 23 1897 issue of the Jewelers' Circular. John F. Seely was born September 23 1823 and died June 18 1897. From the Russ Rulau collection. (300-400)
