Description

Civil War token Fuld OH165FX-11a R6 MS63 with 40% or more original Red mint luster. John Stanton Manufacturer of Store Cards Stencils, Stamps & Brands Cincinnati Ohio with reverse bust believed to be Stanton himself. Stanton was one of the most prolific minters (although his own tokens such as this are scarce in comparison) of Civil War tokens, most of which have his famous Indian Head reverse meant to mimic regular US Mint issue coinage and consequently increase their acceptance.  From the Henry South collection earlier from PCAC October 1970.  In a NGC holder graded MS63 RB. (500-750)
