144 - MI190A-4a Unlisted NGC MS64 BN E. H. Sheldon, Constantine Michigan. An impressive single die double header mint error, seemingly unlisted. Fuld's 2nd and 3rd editions list -2a and -3a as brockage errors of the obverse and reverse of -1a. To date we have not seen either of those varieties. NGC has labeled as -3a on their holder, the nearest listed variety. If someone showed this is the type of token to the late Steve Tanenbaum, he would have put it into his shirt pocket and began explaining why you HAD to sell it to him! Unfortunately, he never got that chance. From the Cliff Temple collection, earlier from Heritage's April 2012 sale where it brought $862.50, even earlier from B. Gilman on December 3rd 1937. In Cliff's notes, he simply listed as 190A- Unlisted. (1500-2000)
