Description
720 - MILLER TN 59A Raw EF Details But a bit porous and cleaned. H. & I. Kirkman Hardware and Cutlery, Nashville Tennessee struck in Brass with a Plain edge and anvil, rifle, hoe, trowel and chains pictured. An very rare early Tennessee token, Rulau thought this token was issued between 1828 and 1832 based on its fabric as he was unable to obtain directory evidence. Possibly a Hard Time era token, see HT-98 for a very similar obverse design. We sold a Raw VG/AG for $120 in our December 2017 sale while a Raw VF brought $1,870 in Bowers & Merena's November 1990 auction. From the John Ford collection. (500-750)
